On May 8th, 2010 I went back to the dirt track - this time to race.  My last night of racing was late in the summer of 2005.  Following the loss of a cylinder in the engine, I pulled the motor and sent it off to the builder for a look-see.  We had also blown the motor at the beginning of 2005 and my engine builder felt that we needed to make some changes in order to keep turning the RPM's we were turning without resorting to a 'disposable' motor.  So, after 4 years, several life changes and a substantial 'investment' in engine, body and mechanical upgrades, I was now ready to return to racing.

We headed back down to Fairbury Speedway on June 26th, 2010.  This was our second night of racing in 2010, after being away from the track since 2005.  After getting rid of the 'first night' jitters, I was looking forward to getting back and seeing whether I could build on the results from May 8th.  This was also the first week we had taken the time to pressure wash all 12 of our wheels and tires, grinding the surface of the four on the car in order to restore them to their optimum traction.  I was eager to see how this would enhance the handling of the car.
